Talmud and Kabbalah quotations

Who claims it

The speaker in the transcript

The claim

The speaker holds up the Talmud and cites passages he says permit sexual abuse of children (Sanhedrin "54b," Niddah 44b), call Gentiles animals (Bava Metzia 114b), say Gentiles practise bestiality (Avodah Zarah 22b) and say not to lift a Gentile from a pit (Avodah Zarah 26b).

He says Kabbalah is kept secret and is "even darker."

Evidence and counterpoints
  • The guide says the Talmud is thousands of pages of rabbinic legal debate recorded about 1,500 years ago; some lines sound harsh today, as in many ancient law books, but the speaker leaves out context and other passages, such as one forbidding fathers to marry off young daughters and one requiring Jews to help poor and sick non-Jews (chapter 7).
  • The Talmud records arguments between rabbis, not a single rulebook (glossary), so a quoted line may be one opinion within a debate.
  • Kabbalah texts are published and widely available; the speaker gives no example of what he says is secret.

Points citing a chapter or the guide come from the source materials. Others are general reasoning; check them yourself.
